Alvarado Gardens Neighborhood

Volunteer Opportunities

Getting involved in the neighborhood is a great way to make a positive impact locally. If you’re interested in any of the volunteer opportunities below, or if you have a project idea of your own, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at katherinechilton@me.com.

Annual Block Party & Yard Sale Committee Member

Help plan the annual block party and yard sale. The committee begins meeting in the late summer to start planning for the fall events. Volunteers are involved in all aspects of the annual block party and yard sale planning, including: music, pet parade, cake walk, games for kids, food and drinks, event setup, event cleanup, collecting membership fees, and distributing flyers.

AGNA Board Member

We are looking for neighbors to join the AGNA board. Board membership is a two-year commitment, and the board meets four times a year. The board’s nominating committee will contact neighbors interested in serving each winter and voting occurs during the spring annual meeting. Your term as a board member would begin after the annual meeting. As a board member, you’ll get to meet several of your neighbors while learning about and supporting topics important to your community. You may also be involved in planning and hosting an annual meeting in the spring and an annual block party in the fall

Writer

Help write thank you notes to donors of block party gifts, to people or businesses that have improved our neighborhood, write stories or articles for our website. The time requirements of this volunteer position will vary throughout the year.
